Operation

Anecdote

I'm having an operation later today to fix my umbilical hernia. It'll take around 30 minutes, but of course I have to arrive early and then speak to the surgeon and anaesthetist, wait for my turn on the production line, then wait to regain consciousness before I get back home. I check into the hospital at 12:40, so I can't see myself getting home again before 19:00.

I'm meant to be released into the care of a responsible adult, who will look after me for the next 24 hours. My younger daughter is therefore picking me up. Unfortunately, she has work tomorrow so my wife will have to take over. I won't tell the hospital.

It's a simple laparoscopic surgery, so nothing should go wrong. If I don't post tomorrow, something did.

Good luck me!
