It turned out that I had four extra MSc research proposals to second-assess, instead of the usual none. This was despite the fact that I'd warned the person responsible that I had other assignments to mark and might be late with producing the marks for my own students. It's almost as if the university wants its members of staff to suffer.
Anyway, as a result of reading eight research proposals in quick succession on days (and evenings) I'm not supposed to work, I have come to the conclusion that the worst thing about ChatGPT is that it takes me longer to read what it splurges out than it takes it to splurge it out. There's only a certain amount of repetitive rambling I can take before I start to get cross.
As for claiming that the research being proposed has already been completed, or producing flowcharts that contain nodes reading "Intsgonantentmpon" and "Doueling Fedoce Srevea", only my professionalism and general laziness prevents me from ranting about it here and now.
