The size mixes imperial and metric units. It represents a point in UK history of "out with the old, in with the new", so I thought it was appropriate for New Year's Eve.
The reason it's a scan and not a photograph is that I could easily put it on my scanner. The box is falling to pieces and I had to stick it back together using packing tape. The box is therefore continuing its job of representing points in UK history.
