Anecdote
Unusually, I watched a film last night instead of playing games.
Sometimes, movies come out that I hear about and think "I want to watch that". Eventually, they're streamed for free on some service or other that my wife subscribes to, and we remember to watch them (our tastes in films have a large intersection). This being Christmas week, we got finally around to watching Everything Everywhere All at Once (OK, but I don't know why Jamie Lee Curtis won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress based on this) and Enola Holmes (pretty good, but Henry Cavill was miscast).
Yesterday, we looked for another movie to watch, but all the ones we could think of were still at the pay-us-even-more-money-to-watch stage. We therefore chose one we'd never heard of that had good ratings: an Australian film called Occupation: Rainfall.
It turned out it's part of a series. There's an earlier film, Occupation, and there's a later one, Occupation: Rainfall 2. This wasn't apparent until Occupation: Rainfall reached the end, when it didn't.
I won't be watching either of the other two.
Still, at least I learned that the actor Temuera Morrison looks a bit like Eli Wallach.
