Stamps never used to expire, but apparently they will at the end of the year. I think people must be getting rid of their old stamps before then.
Alternatively, this is just normal UK eccentric bonkerism in action.

I won some playing cards on eBay before I went to Tenerife, and they arrived while I was away. It's OK, you're safe for now, I'll blog about those later. The thing is, they came in a box I wasn't expecting, which was wrapped up rather well. It was also stamped rather well.
