Anecdote
At 1:15 this morning, I learned that if you walk into a half-open bedroom door in the dark, you can do yourself a fair amount of damage.
There was lots of blood, but luckily for me none of it landed on our new carpet. If it had done, there would have been lots more when my wife spotted it.
