Anecdote
One of the things I dislike about supervising students' capstone projects is that I have to have weekly meetings that fit their timetables. This usually means I have odd 30-minute sessions scattered throughout the week. Because of this, I can't get a clear run at anything else. Having to stop writing an article or a lecture to talk to a student for half an hour is both inconvenient and disruptive. Last year it was especially bad as I was pre-recording lectures and had to plan them around student supervision meetings.
This year, however, I have somehow managed to arrange for all six of my undergraduate project meetings to take place on Tuesday afternoons. It's great!
It's great except, that is, on Tuesday afternoons.
