Anecdote
At the university, we have a back-projected screen that covers a whole wall. It was originally used for streaming 3D images, but the professor who got the grant for it has now left so it's not seeing much use.
Hmm, I have several hundred 3D images I've taken over the years. I wonder what it would be like to stand next to them?
Oh well, there's only one way to find out! I've just spent the afternoon prepping some.
Here's one of a house in Copenhagen, rendered as a looping .gif so you don't have to do any crazy eye-crossing stuff to see it.
