There's a new retail park in Colchester called the Stane Leisure Park. It has nothing to do with leisure — it's just a bunch of large, out-of-town retail units. I don't know where the Stane comes from either, other than the fact that it's in Stanway and the first four letters of both are the same. The approach road to it has been surgically positioned between other roads, messing up the operation of the roundabouts, and there are about half the number of parking spaces that such a group of large shops needs.
This is where Marks & Spencer moved their store from the High Street.
It's good to see that they're helping out with the parking situation by having such a poor selection of clothes that few people will want to shop there, anyway.
