Weird
There's been some AI-art controversy recently about a version of Vermeer's Girl with a Pearl Earring that was hung (among other versions of the painting) in the museum where the original usually hangs but isn't hanging at the moment because it's on loan.
Never mind that! What happens when we give Midjourney the prompt "pearl earring with a girl"?
Well I asked it, and here's its first attempt.
I quite like the way that it doubled-up some of the images to have two girls, because it knows there are usually two earrings. Mainly, though, what strikes me is that those are some BIG earrings!
If an artist replicated in paint what Midjourney produced digitally, would it be OK to hang that in a museum? No-one need know the artist had used Midjourney, of course....
