Anecdote
After the somewhat lukewarm reception the Dheghōm "world in cubes" cover variations received, I've gone back to the drawing board and produced a new set of covers. These are either "young woman" or "particle effects" or a combination of the two.
I've also introduced some different art styles that match the game-like concept of the novel. This may make them look as if they're for kids or young adults, though, so they could well flop. Still, worth a try!
Covers 7 and 9 are the same as in pass 2. These didn't wrap round to make a full jacket, but I figured out a way to persuade them to do so: put a black, fading border around them. This means I can make the spine and the back cover both black. I wouldn't need to if I could guarantee that the covers would print exactly where the creases and page edges go, but it's not a given. Whether these revised versions of 7 and 9 still work or not I leave to you to decide.
Because the thumbnails below are too small to make out in detail, I've put a version of them at https://www.youhaventlived.com/dhegh%C5%8Dm/pass4.htm that has clickable thumbnails which link to bigger pictures.
Do any of these grab you, or am I flogging a dead horse now?
