Anecdote
A Christmas card arrived this morning. It was sent from within the UK bearing a first-class stamp postmarked 17th December.
I know the Royal Mail has been beset by strikes, but this is an example of industrial inaction rather than industrial action. If someone was looking for a way to stop people from using the service, well this is an example of the kind of thing would achieve it. Charging 95p for the privilege doesn't help, either.
It's a friend of mine's birthday six days from now. I'm beginning to wonder if I should have sent his card on December 23rd.
