Phoenix

Anecdote

Among my mum's photographs I found this signed one of Pat Phoenix.

For the benefit of the vast number of people out there wondering who on earth Pat Phoenix was, she played a major character called Elsie Tanner in the UK's longest-running TV soap opera, Coronation Street from its opening episode in 1960 until she left in 1984. Like her character, she had a complicated personal life: her third and final marriage was to the father-in-law of Tony Blair (yes, the one who became PM). She died of lung cancer in 1986, due in no small part to her smoking 60 cigarettes a day.

Enough people still recollect Pat Phoenix that her autograph is worth maybe £10-£15 on eBay, although I don't know that one that's had a wet teacup stood on it would fetch that much.

Tempted though I am to flog in on eBay, it'll take more than £10 worth of my time to set it up. It can go to the car boot sale with the rest of my mother's possibly-sellable jumble.
