Anecdote
We had an educational away day today. It was held in a new building constructed out of modules in such a way that if I taught modular level design, I would use it to demonstrate modular level design.
I found out that my complaint about being given a supervisory role in the main second-year module had been listened to, and I no longer have to do it. This was great news, although not much to do with education.
I found out that the recommended way that we all switch to for giving feedback is the one I used already. That's both going to save me time and win me brownie points.
I found out that the difference between what I should do as a personal tutor and what I do do as a personal tutor is big enough to notice, but not as big as it is for other people; this means it isn't actually noticed.
I found out that the university catering department now does soup. Either that, or they kept the coffee they made before the pandemic and this is what it turned into. I had the leak and potato, which was nice apart from the metallic aftertaste that didn't go away until I was able to replace it with the soil aftertaste that followed the coffee.
I didn't find out what the woman teaching us how to project our voices was telling me as I couldn't hear her.
