Anecdote
We're aboard the ship. Setting off crazily early to get here worked as a strategy, except for when we had to stop for 45 minutes at a service station because we were too crazily early. The boarding process was smooth, so we ended up on the ship 15 minutes before we were supposed to be arriving to begin the boarding process. We ate at the service station, thereby guaranteeing that there would be full carvery meals available on the ship (which there were).
We're in room E731, at the back of the ship; the balcony gives us a decent view behind as well as to the side.
Here's what our room looked like when we arrived.
The seal didn't break when we opened the door, it just became unstuck. Had we known this beforehand, we could have broken into any number of cabinsstaterooms and taken people's stuff. Er, if we were thieves, that is.
As you may have guessed from the number, our room is on deck 8.
Overheard from a confused passenger: "So is starboard the left of the ship or is that aft?"
