Anecdote
Back in the 1980s, I used to buy the magazine Punch every week. This was the premier outlet for stand-alone cartoons in the UK at the time, and occasionally I'd find one sufficiently amusing that I would cut it out and put it on the door to my office filing cabinet. Sadly, I couldn't take the filing cabinet with me when I left lecturing, but I have fond memories of some of the cartoons. This one was my favourite:
I had some other by Holte that were among the best, too, but I couldn't find those online.
Sadly, Punch is no longer with us. I don't know where cartoonists publish their works now, other than on greetings cards.
Another victory for the Internet.
