Weird
In my lecture on localisation, I tell my students that English is not a particularly concise language. Inspired by an article I once read but can no longer find, I tell them that the opening to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is 170 characters in English, 186 in French, 164 in German, 171 in Spanish and 178 in Italian.
Then I see instructions on photocopiers and am completely undermined.
