Anecdote
I was trying to read one of the games at the Gotland Games Conference and was having a terrible time of figuring out why the heroine (who arrived in the game world on a boat) was called Noah. Everything else made sense, but not that.
I eventually asked the designer and she said it was because she wanted a name that worked in both Swedish and English, and she knew a woman called Noah and liked it. When I pointed out that there was a character in the Bible called Noah and I couldn't understand how thaat fitted into the design, it transpired that she was only vaguely aware of the Biiblical Noah.
You really have to admire how irreligious Sweden is.
