Translation

Anecdote

I've had a great idea for a universal translator from English to any other language! Here's a few examples.

English: Good morning.
Foreign: GOOD MORNING.

English: Do you speak English?
Foreign: DO YOU SPEAK ENGLISH?

English: Where is the nearest chip shop?
Foreign: WHERE IS THE NEAREST CHIP SHOP?

English: How much is a ticket for the football?
Foreign: HOW MUCH IS A TICKET FOR THE FOOTBALL?

English: Which platform is the train for Paris?
Foreign: WHICH PLATFORM IS THE TRAIN FOR PARIS?

English: I'd like a bottle of the Château Poujeaux Moulis-en-Médoc, please.
Foreign: I'D LIKE A BOTTLE OF THAT PLEASE.

All I need is a publisher and it'll be a runaway Christmas best-seller.
