Anecdote
My daughter gave me these cards as a present from her recent trip ot Japan:
I've no idea what they are. There are 200 cards in the box, half of which just have the writing and half of which have a picture too. There's an instruction book inside with this on the front:
As the big characters are the same as in Chinese, I thought I may be able to wield my Chinese dictionaries to figure out what they mean. However, not all of them are in my dictionaries, and the ones that are aren't exactly helpful (small ... hundred person one head early ... ...).
I can see I'm going to have to take these to my class next term and make my students design a game for them.
