Anecdote
I was up in a village near Ipswich this afternoon, for a playtest of a boardgame I designed about 10 years ago called The Hopefuls. Its fiction is that you're a judge in a national competition for wannabe popstars to form a supergroup.
The playtest went really well, and changes to the rules will definitely be made as a result. The idea is to put it on Kickstarter, with investors investing roughly the amount that it would cost to manufacture a set; if enough people are interested, we make the game and they all get the sets sent to them.
It is actually a pretty neat strategy game, even if I say so myself. I'm therefore rather hopeful.
