Anecdote
I was expecting to spend this afternoon killing golems in The Secret World. I wasn't expecting to spend it lying on my back with my head next to a lavatory bowl attempting (and failing) to stop a joint in the water pipe from leaking. Still, that's what happened — apart from the half an hour spent going to get some new washers which were almost the right size but not quite.
I'll have to call in the plumber on Monday. That'll be expensive for the supply of a piece of rubber worth about 5p, but if he has the piece of rubber and I don't, I don't have a lot of choice.
