To the beggar on the subway connecting Hyde Park Corner and Grosvenor Place, assuming he has access to the Internet: you might get more money out of people if you don't give "wanker" gestures to the ones who ignore you. It creates a bad impression in the minds of the people coming along behind them.
Of course, being the third beggar to accost people within 50 metres doesn't help your cause either.
