Anecdote
I woke up this morning with a dead hand from having slept on it. As I attempted to resurrect it, I noticed that the time was 5:30am. Hmm, wasn't that the time to watch the transit of Venus across the sun? I went to have a look out of the bathroom window.
It was the time, but the end of the transition, not the start. Also, it's tomorrow morning, not this morning.
Oh well. At least in looking I discovered that next-door's willow tree is in the way so if I did get up tomorrow morning to look, I wouldn't see anything.
Still, I don't care: I saw it last time round and only have to wait until 2117 to see the next one anyway.
