The clearance of the Dale Farm site has been put on hold because there is evidence that bats live in some of the structures. If these are rare bats, which are protected, the structures will have to remain standing.
So ... wherever the Dale Farm travellers end up, all they need to do is to breed themselves a colony of rare bats and they're safe from eviction? Like despots do with human shields, except using bats instead of humans?
If humans can be evicted but rare bats can't, why not?
