Anecdote
When I got up on Monday, I trod on the pair of trousers I had left next to the bed as a reminder not to put them on (hey, it doesn't have to make sense to you, just to me). I thought there was a lump in them so I trod on it to see if there was, but nothing seemed to happen so I left it. Only later, when I was looking for my watch, did I realise where it was — in the pocket of the trousers. Ah, so that's what the lump was. I took it out, checked it over, it seemed OK, so I wore it.
Today, it fell off my wrist and I trod on it again, hurting my foot.
Who knew watches harboured revenge?
