Out of Touch

Anecdote

My landline phone has stopped working.

Well, it's still working, it's just it can't talk to the base station. I pick it up and there's no sound in the headset, and when I get a call I can't answer it, it just goes to voice messages. My suspicion is that the new phone we got a couple of weeks ago on our other (family) landline uses the same wireless frequency as this phone and is effectively jamming it. I may have to go dig the phone it replaced out of the attic and try that instead of my non-working phone, as that used a non-clashing frequency. It's missing an answerphone, but I never like those things anyway because messages can sit around for days before I notice them.

Anyway, the upshot of this is that if you try to call me on my landline, it's not going toreach me until I get around to fixing the problem.
