Anecdote
Damn! They took it down!
A week or so ago, a large poster of our local MP-to-be, Bernard Jenkin, appeared alongside the road about 100 metres from our house. A day or two after it made its appearance, it was decorated by the addition of some large, blue glasses. I kept meaning to go and photograph it for QBlog, but hadn't got around to it until today, to my disappointment, it was removed.
I suspect this article in today's Guardian may have had something to do with it:
The yellow lines are my wife's attempt to bring the article to my attention (which didn't work — I still didn't read it until she asked me if I'd done so).
Mr Jenkin is, by the way, the reason all Richard Curtis scripts feature a character called Bernard.
