Anecdote
I only missed 10 minutes of the England game yesterday, because my dad taxi was only called upon 5 minutes before half time and I got back 5 minutes after the half had resumed.
This is probably the last England game of the World Cup I'll see, though. The next game is on Sunday, when I'll be in Bristol. I'll also be in Bristol on Saturday night, but in front of a TV set at the appropriate hour; given that our team saw fit to come second in group C to that well-known soccer-mad nation the USA, we're going to be eliminated by Germany on Sunday afternoon instead.
Oh well, at least the roads will be clear for the drive home, and the season finale of Dr Who recorded from Saturday to watch.
