Anecdote
I bought some new headphones yesterday, the old ones having fallen onto the floor once too often. These are wireless, so I don't catch them under the casters of my chair.
I've timed the buzzing I get from them at 15 every 5 seconds, which is 3 per second. I've switched channels, and I get it on all of them. I don't know what's causing it, but at a guess it's something I want switched on while I use them, eg. my computer.
I have a strong feeling I'll shortly be buying another wired headset. In the meantime, I'm sure I have a drawer full of plug earsets I've acquired from airlines over the years...
