Anecdote
So cold was I today that I went to Sainsbury's and bought a hot water bottle, except without the hot water and it's not a bottle. It serves the same function, though: stopping your fingers from being so cold they won't bend. You stick it in the microwave for a minute, flip it over, give it another minute, wait a minute, then it's warm and cosy.
It also smells like the apple crumble you microwaved yesterday, but who cares — it's warm...
The plumber called: one of their heating engineers hurt his hand, so it won't be until 9:30 until they get to look at our boiler tomorrow. I hope it's not later, I have a meeting with a student at 2pm.
