Anecdote
This was in my email this morning, from the univeristy's computing service:
To keep your account secure you need to change your password at least once every four months, or, if your account is new, within one month of its being issued. Our records show that the password for user account rabartle was last changed on Nov 6 2008.
Could you please change your password sometime in the near future to ensure that your account remains active.
Looks like it's time to increment the integer in my password again...
