I've said before that York is one my my most favourite cities, so I'm a little annoyed with York University's mathematics department for putting on a course my daughter didn't like the look of when we visited a couple of days ago. If she'd gone there as a student, I could have spent many a happy hour wandering round the city taking photographs of, oh, let's say street signs:
