Outburst
Having complained to my first-year students about their inability to spell the word "lose" (and having knocked marks off in their assignments if they didn't get it right), I was replaying Divine Divinity last night and was told something along the lines of "We are loosing the war". There's a magic hood in there that suggests you "don't loose your head", too.
I can see in 20 years' time the general public will spell "lose" as "loose" as a matter of course, in the same way they think the singular of "dice" is "dice".
Mutter ... mumble ... grumble ...
