Anecdote
A bunch of water engineers came to the village yesterday. They dug a hole in the road about 100 metres from our house, and once the air was all out of the system it worked just fine again.
Yay!
So why, when I had a shower this morning, did it start off hot and then turn cold? It was almost as if there was a restricted mains supply or something...
I learned the answer when I headed off to Sainsbury's. More water engineers had blockaded a different road 100 metres in the opposite direction and were busy digging it up.
Hmm, is this just a large scale example of movement in the pipes?
