Well, I finally bit the bullet and filled in this year's tax form. I'd been putting it off for weeks, but if I don't file it by the end of the month I have to work everything out for myself, which adds yet more unfathomable note-reading to the task.
Fortunately, I've figured out a way to make it all much, much simpler:
