By Train
Anecdote
My trip to Worthing was by train, which I maybe wouldn't have decided to do had I known that the Circle Line would be closed and I'd have to take the Central and Victoria lines and wait on a platform so crowded there were 8 people between me and the train.
Anyway, some random observations:
- If you're in charge of a railway and your matrix signs are not in service, don't write "NOT IN SERVICE" on them. Leave them blank. Otherwise, people might think that the train waiting on the platform is NOT IN SERVICE and be astounded when it turns out that yes, it was in service, and you should have got on it.
- I saw a woman with a normal hand except her index finger was longer than her middle finger, like she was ET or something.
- When you book a threatre seat over your mobile phone, and you give your name and address and read out your credit card details, be aware that other people in the carriage can hear what you're saying. Some of us even had pens in our hands at the time, Mr G A Roberts of Purley.
