Outburst
Oddly, the transition from being 45 to being 46 was the worst in terms of suddenly sounding older I've had yet, except for the transition from 18 to 19. That's just psychological, though. Yesterday, I was reminded once again that age is accompanied by various bits of wearing-out.
I went to bed quite happily on Saturday night (er, well actually Sunday morning — hey, playing computer games is like my job) but woke up on Sunday with my right hip joint hurting. It twinged throughout the day, but it's something I get once in a while and it passes. Fortunately, I've yet to have it in each hip simultaneously, otherwise I'd be pretty well disabled until it wore off.
When I went to bed last night, though, I knew I was in trouble. It was getting worse. The slightest movement was painful enough to make me wince, and this is not conducive to a sleep. Sure enough, I woke up continually during the night, so if I nod off while typing this you know why... This morning, the pain is, if anything, worse. I have to hold onto something when I stand up or sit down, otherwise my leg gives way.
As usual, I have no idea what might have brought it on.
