Although airports are keen to provide wireless access for laptop users (and some, such as Singapore's Changi, do so for free), they're more reticent when it comes to wall sockets where you can plug in your machine instead of having to race against time.
So here's a tip for anyone at Heathrow's Terminal 4 who has a laptop with a low battery but who brought their power supply with them: proceed to Gate 8, where there are a couple of sockets against the wall with easy access. There's a T-Mobile HotSpot there, too, should you wish to burn some money.
