Anecdote
According to my doctor, the problem I have with my shoulder is not due to a snapped tendon. He thinks it's because a muscle has become inflamed, which has made it swell, so it catches on the bone, so it gets more inflamed. He's given me some anti-inflammatory pills to take (3 times a day, with meals) and told me to move my arm around a lot.
I'm not convinced, but I'll give it ago. Having got my hand stuck in my back pocket while trying to retrieve a comb, I'm up for it.
