There's an unofficial patch for Civ4 that makes the game actually playable by fixing its memory problems. What a relief! It takes me 1 minute to play a turn now instead of 5. The patch is by a Russian Civ4 player called Harkonnen, who certainly knows more about graphics cards than anyone at Firaxis. Surely they'll incorporate it into their next official patch? And surely they'll pay him for saving their bacon?
