Outburst
What is it with American children's clothing sizes? I ask one shop assistant what size a 10-year-old would wear and I'm told 12. I ask another and I'm told 10 (and given a "you idiot" look, to boot). Half the clothes aren't marked in either, and are just M (for medium).
I get this every time I go to the USA. Last time, the clothes I bought for Madeleine were too small. This time, they may be too small again, but Macy's assured me that their sizes were on the large side, which given that they are intended for Americans means we could be talking large enough to cover a sheep.
Oh well, if they don't fit she'll just have to wait until she inherits the size 16s I got for Jenny.
