Outburst
Electric kettles come with a variety of features these days. One of these is "keep warm", which means that the element heats up the water again when it drops below a certain temperature.
On the side of the box of a Prestige kettle in Comet I read words to the following effect: "keep-warm feature — saves time and conserves energy".
I can see how keeping something at a constant, high temperature can save you time, because it doesn't take so long to boil the water if it's half-way done already. What I can't see is how this conserves energy.
