Anecdote
I got up at 3:00am for my flight, which was scheduled to depart at 6:15am. It was delayed by 25 minutes (the overnight maintenance found something that needed maintainng). We were assured that the time would be made up on the flight to Tenerife, but arrived 30 minutes late.
There are two airports on Tenerife. I landed at the south airport. My lift to the convention centre had gone to the north airport. I had to take a taxi at 11:00 for a 50-minute ride to the convention centre where my talk was at 12:00.
The taxi made it in 40 minutes, so I was able to speak on schedule. It went well, I thought. I'll upload the slides when I get home (assuming I remember).
Taking a 6:15am flight on Ryanair is the best way to travel on Ryanair, because you can sleep the whole time and so miss the whole Ryanair flying experience.
