Outburst
From the Acknowledgements section of the PhD thesis I've just read, written by one of my supervisees:
First, to Richard: I cannot express enough thanks for the steady guidance and quiet wholesomeness. This document would be far from what it is today without you, and contain many more split infinitives. Yes, I checked that sentence for them.
The first sentence of Chapter 1 of the thesis:
To adequately investigate AI in strategy games, it is first necessary to define what we mean by ‘strategy game’.
