Draft Day

Anecdote

Yesterday was a wasted day, work-wise. I spent most of it reading a PhD thesis that started out OK but then got so bad I figured it was no better than a draft. I went and checked, and it was indeed a draft. That was 6 hours of reading I didn't need to do, then.

Also, because I was reading it on paper (so I could scrawl comments on it in red pen, to have fun deciphering later) it meant I wasn't at my PC. I therefore missed the Zoom meeting I had at 1pm, which I had believed I'd moved to roday but hadn't. Now, I'll have to have it later in the week. It's rather important, because it's for an MSc dissertation and the deadline is at the end of the month, so there's only this week and next week left — and I have next week off (at short notice) because my wife took it off (at short notice).

Let's hope today's reboot of yesterday goes better.
