Satnav

Weird

The satnav built into my car is a little odd. It gets live updates for traffic conditions, but its map hasn't changed since the day we bought it. As a result, new roads don't exist on it. When I'm on one, it thinks I'm driving through open fields.

On the left, near Cambridge. It can see the older roads but not the new one. The red line is where it thinks I've been, so it's having a really hard time of it.

On the right, near Beverley. There are no older roads, it's all new. It thinks I'm in a desert or something.

If you're wondering what happens when the live traffic update indicates a problem on a road it doesn't know about, my satnav prudently ignores it.
