Ten Piccaninnies

Weird

The packs of cards I like to buy on eBay are becoming too expensive now. However, one way I've discovered of obtaining them for cheap is to look at job lots of cards, which sometimes include something I want hidden among a dozen packs of dross. I bought one such job lot recently that has thirteen packs (three of which are double, so sixteen in all), just because I wanted a Dondorf patience pack #189 that was among them.

Back in 2010, I bought a job lot of nineteen packs, two of which were pornographic. This time round there was nothing like that, but there was, hmm, well brace yourself before reading the rules:

This game was published in 1965 by Piatnik. The characters look quite cute and all, and the backs of the cards have palm trees and grass huts on them — it wasn't created to be offensive. Then again, it wasn't created for the people whom it was offending. These days, you might be able to get away with such a game if it were called Ten Children and sold in countries where that's what children look like (if there are any), but otherwise you'd need a strong political motivation to include a racial slur in its name.

I'm not entirely sure what to do with the pack now I have it.
