Vote

Anecdote

We're in Bristol this weekend, visiting our elder daughter.

We went to one of the museums in the morning, where we found there was a section on the environment. As this is the Green councillor daughter, we thoight we should maybe take a look.

It had a voting screen in one corner where you could say whether you wanted to get rid of cars in Bristol or not. Then, you could touch another button to find out what the totals of the votes cast for each one were.

The button to do this didn't seem to work, but if you persisted, this happened:

You could from here exit to desktop and do whatever you liked. The Internet was available, so we could have installed random programs doing random things. We actually chose to reboot it, then I found Flash and managed to get the voting program running again.

In the evening we went to a place for pizza where the Green party members of Bristol city council were meeting, including the national leader (well formally she's just half the leadership, but the half with charisma). I didn't ask to be introduced; they can reboot their party without my help.
