Bluebell Wood

Anecdote

We went to the local bluebell wood yesterday, as we usually do around this time of year.

There must be over a hundred bluebells here.

OK, so there's probably close to a hundred bluebells per square metre, but quite how long that will remain the case is another matter. Large areas of the wood are now brambles rather than bluebells, and if they're not cleared out then it'll be bye bye bluebells.

What we need is for a TV programme to tell people that taking wild blackberries from woodland is legal under certain hard-to-comply-with criteria, so that foragers can come and do a number on them like they did the wild garlic last year.
